Purpose（目的）: 

To provide an educational opportunity for the Avatamsaka Vihara attendants that have youngsters, 3-6, and >6 year old, to learn more traditional moral knowledge of Loyalty, Filial Piety, Benevolence, Righteousness, Courtesy, and Wisdom and fundamental Buddhism based on the “Six Principles of the Sagely City of the Ten Thousand Buddha.”

為華嚴精舍3-6歲及6歲以上兒童與青少年提供教育機會，學習忠，孝，仁，義，禮等傳統美德，以及慈悲，智慧等基於萬佛聖城六大宗旨的佛教道理。

 

Time and Facility （時間和設施）:

  • Sundays 9:30-11:00AM year round in the Avatamsaka Vihara Activity Room next to the Dining Hall. 每星期日上午9:30-11:00 在精舍齋堂側面的教室上課。
  • At 11am, the children will attend the meal offering ceremony and follow the remaining temple routine schedules.上午11點，孩子們參與午供，之後並遵照寺廟日常儀規進行活動。

Teachers（老師）:

  • The teaching staff consists of well qualified and passionate teaching volunteers that will utilize all possible teaching tools appropriate for this age group of youngsters in order to facilitate their learning. Both English and mandarin are offered.教學人員由合格並熱心教育的志工老師組成，將運用各種適齡的教學材料和教學器具來引導孩子們學習，教學以（中、英文）雙語進行。

Class Teaching Content（教學內容）:

With available resources, the staff will incorporate different tools appropriate for the age groups to achieve the purpose and principles of Buddhism.  It may include story-telling, singing, dancing, drawing, games, show-and-tell, and other activities.

教師們運用各種教學資源，將各年齡層適用的教材和教具納入課程，來教導佛教的基本道理，達成本校教育宗旨。教學活動包括講故事，唱歌，跳舞，繪畫，遊戲，說話，表演，中文學習和其他活動。

主講法師介紹 Introduction of the Lead lecturer

近和法師於2011年在加州萬佛城受具足大乘佛教戒。他曾在萬佛城和柏克萊佛寺居住修行，直到2021年返回馬來西亞。他精通上座部和大乘佛教經典，目前講授《藥師經》、《心經》和《六祖壇經》，並帶領學生研習八正道淨土。

近和法師擔任斯里蘭卡佛教與巴利語大學佛教文憑課程的講師，同時也是馬來西亞三寶通寺和澳洲觀世音菩薩圓通寺的常駐法師。

近和法師擁有皇家墨爾本理工大學（RMIT University）經濟與金融學士學位，以及斯里蘭卡凱拉尼亞大學（University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka）佛學碩士學位。

Venerable JinHe was ordained in the Mahāyāna Buddhist tradition at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, California, in 2011. He resided and practiced at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas and the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery before returning to Malaysia in 2021.

Well-versed in both the Theravāda and Mahāyāna Buddhist canons, Venerable JinHe currently lectures on the Medicine Master Buddha Sūtra, Heart Sūtra, and Platform Sūtra of the Sixth Patriarch, and leads a study on Understanding Pure Land through the Noble Eightfold Path.

He serves as an instructor for the Diploma of Buddhism program (Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka), and is the resident Dharma teacher for Sam Poh Thong Temple (Malaysia) and Avalokiteśvara Yuan Tong Monastery (Australia).

Venerable JinHe holds a Bachelor of Business in Economics and Finance from RMIT University, and a Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
