There will be no classes held on dates of big ceremony.
Section 1: 9:30AM - 10:00AM, Basic Buddhist course
Section 2: 10:00AM - 10:20AM, Outdoor activities, games, chanting, meditation exercises
Section 3: 10:20AM - 10:50AM, Group discussion
Section 4: 10:50AM - 11:00AM, Go over the rules of meal offering ceremony and during meal time, walk towards Buddha Hall
Educating our mind and spirit
From the teaching of Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, the Six Guiding Principles - the basic conditions for life, as time permits, and then add Buddhist etiquette, the Four Truths, the Eight right ways, the meaning of converting Sambo, the Five Precepts, Ten Good Deeds, the ten Dharma circles and other basic Dharmas.
The teaching staff is very enthusiastic and will do their best to make sure the children will enjoy the class and grow happily, therefore, don’t hesitate to raise any suggestions directly to the Principal in order to avoid misunderstanding and improve the class teaching.
Please inform the Principal directly if you wish to volunteer at any class date to be a teaching assistant in the classroom.
Parents’ responsibility to Make Children Aware and Follow:
• Respect all manifestations of Buddha in Avatamsaka Vihara.
• Cherish and appreciate all temple possessions and blessings.
• Follow the general practice guideline of Avatamsaka Vihara,
including, but not limited to, the following:
1. Always enter from the temple main entrance
2. Change shoes at the children’s shoe rack
3. Always bow to the Buddha in the main hall
4. Be respectful to others
5. Upheld self-discipline and proper behavior
6. Dress properly
7. Keep the classroom area clean and neat
8. Safety first
9. Be attentive in the classroom
10. Observe Dining Hall rules while using meals
The child’s age may or may not show the maturity of the child.
It’s the parent’s responsibility that the child is suitable for the
respective classes and understand the classroom rules.
If the child has any medical needs, e.g., allergy, the parent
has the responsibility to inform the Principle to assure
proper care is attended when needed.
It’s the parent’s responsibility to bring the child on time
to the Avatamsaka Vihara, AND inform the Principal in
advance when the child is not going to attend the class.
There will be no snack time during the class, but a break time
for bathroom and/or your child’s preferred snack/drink is allocated.

The teaching staff consists of well qualified and passionate volunteers that will utilize all possible teaching tools appropriate for this age group of youngsters in order to facilitate their learning.
